DHI offers a crucial service to E&P companies by storing produced water from well sites that are transported by third-party transportation companies to our disposal facilities. During a frack operation, E&P companies generate a great deal of “produced”, or oil-infused water, that is a byproduct of oil and gas drilling and fracking. At the disposal facilities, produced water is subjected to a multi-stage treatment process that separates hydrocarbons and sediments from the water. The hydrocarbons are generally sold back to E&P companies at a slight discount, while the remaining water is eliminated through evaporation.
DHI has multiple disposal facilities in:
- ACE just off highway 40 SSE of Vernal, UT
- Bluebell, UT
- Chapita, UT
- Glen Bench, UT
- Piceance Creek, CO
- Pleasant Valley, UT
- Rangely, CO
- Seep Ridge, UT

All located in the Rocky Mountain region. DHI facilities partner with all fluid transportation companies in the region.
DHI has water sources for oil and gas companies to use in drilling and completion operations. These are located in Utah close to where the Green River and White River merge and in Piceance Creek, Colorado
